The Corner Store
Completed: 2011
Commercial
Project details
The back section of The Corner Store bar needed to double as a comfortable smoking area for the neighbouring Café 23, while adding much needed capacity.
Light and airy, the covered courtyard boasts a fireplace and an intricate wooden feature wall at its centre. Constructed from small planks of high-quality totara timber, the wall opens to reveal the second serving bar behind. This clever versatility allows for more patrons to be served during busy times or for functions, and closed off during the day.
Since this fit-out needed to work across day and night, build quality and finish was all-important.
