Richard Morrison
Site Manager
25 years in construction, NZQA National Certificate in Carpentry.
When 505 required an experienced site manager, specialising in luxury residential construction and with exceptional attention to detail - we knew where to look and introduced Richard to our team.
Richard’s in depth understanding of architectural plans and ability to conceptualise efficient construction methods is indispensable on site. He is quick to pick a pencil and sketch through solutions with the architect, and communicates all elements in a way any client can comprehend.
Not one to get lost in paperwork, Richard balances his management requirements beautifully with getting on the tools and is always seen with his toolbelt on. As he says himself “Moe atu nga ringa raupo” (Marry a man with calloused hands).

Dan's the dependable all- star quietly powering small jobs, maintenance, and tiny tweaks that keep everything running smoothly. Ridiculously organised with smooth energy, he takes the pressure off the team while keeping clients happy and confident. Known for this friendly approach and can-do attitude, Dan turns "small jobs" into big wins, building trust with clients by making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
Nearly two years in, Grace quietly runs the numbers with order and precision, keeping the accounts team- and the whole company- on track. Sweetheart with a cute, under-the-radar charm, she's diligent, consistent, and gets the job done without a fuss. After moving to New Zealand, she put herself through a Xero course and swapped a Chinese company for the kiwi vibe at 505 Construction. When not crunching numbers, she's a pilates pro and a dedicated runner- a true behind-the-scenes powerhouse.

Benjamin White
Senior Quantity Surveyor
NZQA Diploma Quantity Surveyor
NZ Licence Building Practitioner
NZQA National Cert in Carpentry
With over two decades in the New Zealand building industry, Ben has seen it all — from blueprint to build, and everything in between. A Licensed Building Practitioner with a rock-solid foundation in luxury residential construction, he’s led crews of 30+, mentored 50+ apprentices, he specialised in concrete and custom detailing.
After years on the tools, Ben added a diploma in quantity surveying to his toolkit, giving him a sharp edge in estimation, tendering, feasibility, and contract management.
He’s also a qualified PADI Specialty Dive Instructor, because why stick to one profession when you can have two! Above land or below sea level, Ben is known for staying calm under pressure, solving problems before they exist, and building strong foundations — literally and figuratively with his collaborative spirit.
Builder. Surveyor. Diver. Mentor. One man, many skillsets — all built to last.
Niwa joined 505 part time while he was finishing his QS diploma and working another full time job – immediately showing his hard work ethic and keenness to get stuck into quantity surveying. He has been growing his skills in leaps and bounds ever since with the kind of determination that gets things done. He communicates confidently with everyone from apprentices to clients, and works closely alongside Ben—shadowing where needed and stepping up when it counts. Handy for a construction company with a civil fleet, due to Niwa’s previous job, he knows the ins and outs of truck hire and maintenance like a pro. In for the punch and absolutely one to watch.
